AiSensy alternative in India: the two costs a broadcast tool hides

7 min readby Hardik Patel

AiSensy does broadcast marketing well, and if promotional campaigns are your whole use case it is a fair choice. Teams start looking elsewhere when authentication becomes real volume, or when they work out that the line between marketing and utility — not the headline per-message rate — is what their invoice actually turns on.

The two costs a marketing-first platform hides

Almost every WhatsApp platform in India resells the same Meta pricing. When two invoices differ for identical volume, it is rarely the rate card. It is these:

  • The category your messages went out under. Meta prices marketing several times above utility. An order update, a service notification or a delivery alert usually qualifies as utility — but only if someone categorises it that way. Sent as marketing by default, you pay the marketing rate for utility content, on every message, forever.
  • Messages you were charged for that never arrived. On most platforms the charge lands when the provider accepts the message. A few percent are accepted and then never delivered — unreachable handset, frequency cap, policy block. You paid for all of them, and the ledger looks completely normal, because a charge for an accepted message is indistinguishable from a charge for a delivered one.

QuickAuth holds the price at send and only makes it final once Meta confirms delivery. Anything undelivered is returned automatically. You are billed for messages that reached a handset — nothing else.

Authentication is not a campaign

A broadcast tool treats an OTP as a very small campaign. It is not. It needs sub-second delivery, a retry ladder, auto-read on the handset, and a fallback channel for the roughly one in twenty WhatsApp sends that never lands. Without automatic SMS fallback, that is a user who cannot log in.

And the moment SMS enters the picture you are on the TRAI DLT portal registering an entity, a header and every template yourself — see the DLT guide. A platform should do that during onboarding, not hand it to you.

What to demand from the alternative

  • Billing on delivery. Ask directly: charged on acceptance, or on confirmed delivery? The answer is worth a few percent of your spend.
  • Utility-category categorisation. Eligible content routed through the utility lane by design, not by whoever remembered.
  • One API for OTP. WhatsApp-first with automatic SMS fallback and auto-read SDKs.
  • DLT handled for you, including sender ID and template registration.
  • Per-template delivery analytics, so a failing template is visible before it costs a campaign.

Where QuickAuth fits

QuickAuth is a Direct Meta Tech Provider for WhatsApp with direct operator routes for SMS. Authentication, utility and marketing run through one API and one INR invoice, with DLT handled during onboarding and a shared team inbox for the replies those messages produce.

If your volume is genuinely all promotional broadcast, a marketing-first platform may suit you. If it includes authentication, order and service messaging, or anything where the utility line decides the bill, that is the problem QuickAuth is built around.

Migrating without downtime

  1. Your WABA and approved templates move with your number.
  2. Schedule the switch outside a campaign window — sending pauses briefly.
  3. Re-point webhooks and re-issue API credentials.
  4. Run one small campaign and reconcile the invoice against delivered messages before moving the rest.
